Our Iron Age ancestors fought under raven banners. Then came the Romans, with their eagles. When the Romans left, Anglo-Saxon raiders and settlers once again brought back the raven. So did the Vikings who came later.

Our principal area of interest is the production of textiles. However, we aim to reproduce as much of everyday life as possible including costume, jewellery and dress accessories, eating and drinking utensils and warfare.

David and Ingrid are re-enactors for the period between AD 43 and AD1066. We are available for the following:

  • School visits to assist with teaching the "Settlers and Invaders" part of the curriculum (David only).
  • Demonstrations of textile production including spinning, weaving, natural dyeing, embroidery, tablet weaving and the warp weighted loom.
  • Lessons in the various tablet weaving techniques shown on this website (David only).
